The Supply Chain team is looking for motivated professionals to facilitate the distribution of our great products to customers and consumers. These personnel can analyze production metrics against market needs in Supply & Demand Planning, focus on product transportation through Logistics, or ensure the shelves of your local grocery store are stocked by Direct Store Delivery.

The Senior Demand Planning Manager leads a team of Demand Planning Managers for all packaged channels, with direct accountability for ensuring that forecasting execution processes are in place to allow our company to provide consistent, reliable service throughout the supply chain. The Sr Demand Planning Manager is accountable for meeting/exceeding the highest level of forecasting activities through coaching and mentoring their Demand Planning staff. The Sr Demand Planning Manager is accountable for collaborating with Sales and Business Management to exceed forecast performance.

This role requires strong leadership and management skills, advanced understanding of demand planning best practices and models.


Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Provide weekly and monthly sku performance and analysis to key stake holders in the business and supply chain. 
  • Serve as an objective voice of Supply Chain by partnering with Sales, Business Management and Trade Management to drive monthly volume consensus.
  • Lead and coach team of Demand Planning Managers and Planners to generate forecast(s) within assigned Business Unit(s) – promoting the importance of statistical forecasting
  • Consolidate monthly divisional forecasts into total and Business Unit level view for communication with executive leadership.
  • Create ad-hoc reporting as needed to enhance Demand Planning and cross-functional stakeholder understanding of volume drivers and forecast variances.
  • Closely monitor forecast accuracy, Demand Planning and Supply Chain KPI’s to identify gaps and initiate corrections.
  • Lead/Provide oversight for new item forecasting process and ensure continually monitoring and stopping a sku not performing.
  • Document and communicate (monthly) risks and opportunities to plan/forecast.
  • Provide leadership in the annual volume planning process and quarterly updates through monthly 12-month rolling volume forecast.
  • Identify and report on root cause for error at the item and location level
  • While working with the Demand Planning Training Manager create a Demand Planner training program, with continual, on-going training.
  • Work closely with Supply Planning groups to ensure alignment on forecast updates and potential operational impacts.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service and Supply Planning on constrained platform product allocations as needed.
  • Create a balanced team focused on customer demand planners and category demand planners.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 8+years relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
  • Strong working experience in Logility.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence and an understanding of SAP R/3.
  • Solid interpersonal, organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to influence and work well with others to build relationships is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge is required.
  • Ability to analyze and assimilate relevant data for key business recommendations.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with the sales team.
  • Requires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management (coaching, development, and work design), results focus and inspirational leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Demand Planning department.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
