Description:

The Aged Inventory Planner position is designed to specifically target the management of reviewing product write-off costs for all channels. This incumbent will work closely with the Supply Planners and Business Managers on taking action and reducing distress pushed inventory. 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

 

  • Accountable for generating reporting and auditing to ensure lot code rotation is occurring.
  • Accountable for identifying future risk: partner with Demand Planners on trends and reporting findings to Business Management and Demand Planning on repeat offenders.
  • Responsible for all aged inventory reporting and Key Performance Indicator scorecards, ensure ensuring accuracy and timely publication.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with Supply Planners, Demand Planners, Business Managers, Distribution Centers, Finance and various internal departments to achieve the highest level of aged inventory reduction while enhancing mutual growth and profitability.
  • Accountable for understanding all stages of the age process.
  • Acts as a liaison between Business Managers, Supply Planning and Distress Sales on a weekly basis reviewing sku’s with risk and maintain documentation to substantiate aged inventory action.
  • Effectively report and communicate donate/distress/tankage and age inventory exposure during monthly State of the Business meetings.
  • Monitor new items and discontinued items for potential write-off risks.
  • Monthly review of inventory - a full scrub of sku’s will be needed to ensure that there are no surprises from the initial aged risk reports generated by Supply Planning.
  • Assistant to Supply Planners for alerting DC’s on lot codes to ship on orders.
  • Monthly reconcile of financial reports reviewing sku’s with a financial impact.
  • Spearhead a monthly conference call with Distribution Centers reviewing trends, wins and opportunities.
  • Visit Distribution Centers in order to build a solid partnership while ensuring that best inventory practices are being followed.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 2+ year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Aptitude to collaborate with cross functional teams in a complex matrix organization to promote productivity and enhance supply chain overall functions.
  • Proven analytical ability combined with an attention to detail.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills, required.
  • Knowledge of SAP, a plus.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Strong oral, written and verbal communication.
Highly organized, detail-oriented and excellent customer service skills necessary.
