The Position

The Capacity Planner will oversee the long term capacity outlook for Client’s North America Mfg. network.  Working with cross-functional teams to ensure long-term solutions are identified to support volume growth and product innovation strategies.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop a rolling 24 month forward view of capacity utilization by Bakery, Line, Week based on demonstrated capacity and the demand plan and identify/address capacity shortfalls.
  • Work across Bakery Operations leadership teams to ensure operational capabilities are appropriately captured in the capacity models.
  • Align with Supply Planning and Customer Development to ensure month to month changes in the base demand plan.
  • Support business teams with ad-hoc scenarios to support network / business initiatives
  • Participate in meetings with cross-functional team members to support business initiatives and adjust capacity projects accordingly.
  • Synthesize pipeline initiatives (wins, losses, opportunities), and integrate into the long term capacity planning outlook.
  • Prepare summary and detail templates for presentation in the monthly capacity planning review.
  • Maintain a list of risk, opportunities as well as actions/owners to ensure organization focus on closing near term/long term gaps when demand is expected to exceed available capacity.
  • Participate in meetings with cross-functional team members to support business initiatives and adjust capacity projects accordingly.
  • Provide necessary reports and updates for monthly IBP Process
Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the following functions is required: supply chain management, planning, logistics, procurement, manufacturing and/or related field.
  • Strong MS Office experience, specifically with Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP is required; APO or IBP background preferred
  • Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong partnering and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large amounts of data. Proven problem-solving experience involving a variety of functional department and management levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives while working independently is required.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business
  • Previous experience with Network Supply Planning tools, such as SAP APO or SAP IBP is preferred
  • APICS Certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training and Certification is preferred
