Job Summary:

 

Associate Manager – Logistics Execution (TMS/WMS), will be responsible for support of the Logistics Execution function (esp. in the areas of Warehousing & Transportation). This individual will oversee the implementation, optimization & support of Global Logistics Execution processes & systems. The initial focus is on TMS (Transportation Management System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System).

The scope of logistics will span Inbound logistics (RMs), Replenishment logistics (transportation of FG between Manufacturing Plants and DC’s) as well as Distribution logistics (DC’s to Customers) across the globe. The process leader will bring together best practices, benchmarks from the industry and work with various levels of leadership within Business Units; Ops leadership & Finance to align the strategies and lead the process transformation at Edwards to be world class within and in support of the Logistics Execution function. As Edwards continues its explosive growth, this person will participate in projects to improve our processes & capabilities to optimize our logistics capabilities along the dimensions of reliable delivery at an optimal cost.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the logistics & warehousing teams to perform process optimization and functional analysis for designing solutions and evaluating options that include, but are not limited to: new program development, configuration of existing systems, business process redesign, new package/system evaluation or a combination of these options.
  • Understand enough about each option to evaluate multiple options and recommend the best course of action based on requirements coverage and effort required. 
  • Develop expertise with the transportation management system (TMS) and warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Serve as a point person between Logistics Execution & IT for addressing issues and enhancements related to the specific product and functional area.
  • Work closely with business users to determine business requirements and translates them to system requirements.
  • Develop and deliver detailed business functional design requirements and specifications for the system per project requirements. 
  • Perform hands-on system and software configurations to enable business system functionality
  • Responsible for the functional testing of the application (development and configuration) and the support of these applications when moved to production. 
  • Consider technical and performance consequences when creating design deliverables. Use light technical skills in the appropriate toolset to analyze data.
  • Train users in the logistics area (e.g. APICS CLTD certification) as well as process/systems training.

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Logistics or computer science field preferred)
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in Supply Chain systems - with atleast five years in logistic related systems. 
  • High learning agility. Position will often require learning new areas of business and new software.
  • Ability to simplify and break down complex situations and subjects into easy to understand concepts and “digitally augmenting” action items
  • Strong experience with data analysis/design and systems analysis/design.
    • Good communication skills. Able to communicate with business and I/S personnel (written and oral).
    • Must have hands-on design and configuration experience developing and implementing TMS (Oracle OTM preferred) and WMS systems
    • Direct experience in an operations/distribution environment (Logistics Execution). Engineering or Systems experience.
    • Excellent project management skills with track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding financial and business acumen and experience with modeling, T&L planning, and budgeting
    • Medical device industry experience will be a plus. Equivalent experience in highly configurable and/or high volume, high mix, and highly regulated industry will be acceptable as well.
    • Must have progressive management and expanding responsibility with track record for improvements and change management. Must have Project management and change management experience. Background in LEAN and Six Sigma will be a plus.
    • APICS CLTD Certification is a plus.
    • Will require some travel (~10%)
