Job Summary:

  • Spinnaker’s Supply Chain Consulting practice is a community.  We value our delivery to the client and our support of each other day in and day out.  Our work has us operating in a mixed environment between on-site at a client partner, and remotely (work from home).  A JDA Demand Analyst must have a strong drive to acquire knowledge of processes, systems, data, and the client’s business on a rapid timeline.  They must be able to quickly formulate and validate future state demand planning process and solution configuration designs, with emphasis in the JDA Demand application.  Compiling high quality documentation and presentations on a short timeline, being comfortable facilitating discussions, and giving polished presentations with limited supervision is mandatory.   
  • Spinnaker’s analysts serve as a subject matter expert in applying analytical techniques to inform the solving of business problems by creating an objective point of view (i.e. fact-based decision making enabler) . A demand analyst is expected to be well versed in demand process and analytical related knowledge, be able to understand common business problems, and translate business input to advise clients on appropriate solutions to meet their planning objectives.  The JDA Demand Analyst will leverage Spinnaker’s 5 lenses methodology of People-Process-Technology-Policy-Metrics to deliver comprehensive solutions across the entire services portfolio.  The JDA Demand Analyst must possess the necessary acumen to contribute to these engagements as duties are assigned within their particular area of focus.
  • The majority of the Analysts’ time will be working with leading Retail, Distribution, and CPG companies in the USA and CAN; and potentially globally.   This is a highly challenging, but very rewarding, career path for those with the right mindset and required skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Analysts activities include the following:

  • Develop tools & build modeling capability to provide enhanced analytics for demand planning processes
  • Update demand planning strategic decisions based on using volatility and segmentation analysis results
  • Responsible for data preparation, data blending, and the creation of data models / sets using Alteryx
  • Responsible for the triage of requests, gather user requirements and ultimately facilitate ad hoc report / data requests with a quick turn-around time
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation of database workflows, requirements, policies, and procedures as they relate to Business Intelligence Analytics and Reporting
  • 1+ year minimum experience with Alteryx, our main analytics tool
  • At least 3 years of experience in demand planning and statistical forecasting, preferably using JDA Demand Planning
  • Experience coding and modifying SQL/ETL/Alteryx based on business requirements that are part of supply chain planning related projects
  • Suggesting new workflows based on data and analysis
  • Experience and exposure on Data Warehousing and Big Data Ecosystems.
  • Must have excellent oral communications skills, and writing skills 

For all Demand Analysts:

  • Deliver consulting and outsourcing services for client engagements by providing business analysis, creating detailed solution documentation, and doing research to support the creation of high-quality business solutions on behalf high profile commercial companies.
  • Support the creation of functional and technical design documents, detailed interfacing and data mapping specifications, design test cases that validate the proper execution against business requirements, and execute test scripts for systems implementation engagements
  • Manage the development and dissemination of high-quality project deliverables in a manner that encourages client participation and ensures timely delivery to the client
  • Support knowledge share amongst the Spinnaker consulting community by providing direct support to internal colleagues with pertinent questions, or through the development of collateral that can be shared within the group
  • Utilize personal know-how and critical experience to help clients to determine the optimal path for key supply chain process related decisions
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of demand related business processes, planning technology solutions (JDA, i2), and industries and support client service delivery in these areas across the firm
  • Guide clients in best practice and be knowledgeable and self-directed in educating themselves on leading practice
  • Other duties, as assigned
Requirements:

Experience / Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistical, Analytics, Data Governance, Business Management, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Operations Research, Statistics, Logistics, or similar fields
  • Graduate degree (in the fields specified) preferred
  • PMP, APICS, Six Sigma, ACPF or similar industry Certifications are a plus
