Position Summary:

 

  • The Business Process Management (BPM) organization contributes to CLIENT'S' ransformation through global adoption of new and enduring business capabilities.   • The BPM Planning Team operates as internal consultants across CLIENT’S, leading the design and implementation of planning leading practices and transformation programs.
  • The planning team serves as subject matter experts, guiding and supporting business units on integrated planning strategies/roadmaps, business process design, development of capabilities and systems, performance metrics, training, adoption, and continuous improvement.  
  • The primary responsibility of the Manager, Business Process - Supply Planning is to drive the advancement of CLIENT'S Supply Planning business processes, which covers inventory, replenishment, and capacity planning processes and policies, integration with Demand Planning and IBP processes, and enabling JDA Fulfillment and Enterprise Supply Planning modules. This role has a significant leadership (influence) impact on building, enabling, and advancing the Supply Planning processes & capabilities across CLIENT’S brands and business units. It requires a strong ability to influence at multiple levels across the organization.
  • This position will actively partner with business and IT in the rollout of the CLIENT’S Performs transformation program. This position will guide and govern the integrated demand & supply planning processes & capabilities ensuring alignment with business strategies/requirements, lead development and delivery of training, facilitate user acceptance testing and implementation, and enable business transformation and end user adoption. Post the program rollout, the position will guide the on-going development and continuous improvement of strategies, process, tool, and organizational capabilities and facilitate best practice sharing across the business units.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities of The Job:

  • Operate in a leadership capacity within the Supply Planning work stream of the CLIENT’S Performs Integrated Demand & Supply Planning transformation initiative
  • Drive the design, development, implementation and ongoing continuous improvement of CLIENT'S' common model supply planning process, tool, training, and metric capabilities across business units
  • Contribute as a Supply Planning Subject Matter Expert SME with strong working knowledge of inventory, replenishment, and capacity planning processes, leading practice supply planning techniques, and JDA tool capabilities
  • Liaison cross-functionally on integration of supply planning processes with other CLIENT’S processes and initiatives including sourcing, merchandise planning, demand planning,& IBP
  • Partner with IT in the implementation and enablement of JDA Supply planning capabilities with focus on leading and facilitating key business activities including business requirements, capability design reviews, data validation, user acceptance testing, education & training, business readiness/adoption, and post-implementation support
  • Support development of project plans, timelines, & resourcing for business enablement activities to support the CLIENT’S Performs supply planning rollouts
  • Spearhead “as is” discovery of current state inventory & supply planning processes to understand business requirements & improvement opportunities with delivery of new capabilities
  • Drive and facilitate current vs. future state assessments to assist business units with understanding of “from/to” change impacts
  • Partner with business & Change Management to develop & support execution of change readiness action plans to ensure successful adoption
  • Lead the development of supply planning “day in the life” business process training playbooks, how-to guides, and procedure documentation
  • Coach, guide, & mentor inventory & supply planning leaders, power users, & planners in application of inventory & supply planning leading practices & optimizing use of JDA tool capabilities
  • Guide business units on the set-up/use of inventory and capacity planning policies, parameters, exceptions, and configuration settings in JDA to optimize plan outputs and process performance
  • Facilitate delivery of inventory & supply planning “day in the life” training to inventory & supply planning leaders, power users, & planners and implement pre and post go-live evaluations to identify risks and drive training/adoption corrective actions
  • Lead design and development of operations analysis tools to aid in determination of recommended inventory and capacity planning policies
  • Establish standard multi-dimensional inventory/supply planning KPIs & metrics (i.e. plan accuracy, service levels, inventory days/quality, capacity utilization, costs, etc.) & support enablement of reporting capabilities. Monitor inventory & supply planning process performance & tool adoption with objective of diagnosing issues & identifying improvement actions.
  • Lead and facilitate cross business unit forums to exchange inventory & supply planning best practices, transfer knowledge, share adoption successes and learnings, and drive improvement opportunities
  • Drive supply planning continuous improvement – inventory policies (i.e. ABC segmentation, statistical safety stock, etc.), replenishment strategies (i.e. use of postponement/speed models, lead time reduction), capacity planning (i.e. capacity utilization, demand prioritization, etc.), internal and external collaborations
  • Oversee governance, prioritization, and management of enhancement requests across business units related to inventory & supply planning continuous improvements
  • Stay apprised of latest process and technology capabilities that can be applied to CLIENT’S integrated demand & supply planning processes
Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience:  

  • Minimum 5 years in Supply Chain planning operational and/or consulting experience, including: supply planning, production/capacity planning, inventory management, replenishment planning, distribution/fulfillment, and buying/procurement. Experience with demand planning and S&OP/IBP a plus.
  • Consumer products company experience preferred, especially a fast-moving, multi-channel consumer goods business with global manufacturing/sourcing.
  • 1-2 years supervisory role/experience managing a team.  
  • Minimum 3 years experience with a leading advanced supply chain planning (APS) system preferably involved in the design, implementation, and training or expert user.
  • JDA Inventory/Fulfillment, Enterprise Planning (ESP), and Master Planning (MP) experience strongly desired, or relevant experience with similar inventory & supply planning modules in Manugistics, Logility, SAP, or Oracle. Experience with ERP and/or BI reporting tools a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience implementing inventory management, replenishment, supply/capacity planning, and MRP/ERP leading practices and principles.
  • Education:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related Business degree. MBA a plus.
  • APICS or CSCMP certification not required but highly valued

 

Skills:

  • Fully conversant in inventory and supply planning concepts, leading practice business processes and techniques, and advanced planning system (JDA preferred) functional capabilities
