  • The Supply/Category Planner is an experienced professional role responsible for developing the product schedule for a complex product line with high volume and SKU counts.
  • Provides master schedules for plant production operations to meet agreed upon requirements. Ensures the flow of product between or within departments and plants.
  • Responsible for the integration of business development and sales forecasts at all levels of inventories from raw to finished product.
  • Facilitates constant communication between corporate and plant management, sales force, and brokers.
  • This position is an experienced level position requiring a thorough understanding of company operations, sales environment, logistics and cost structures.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.



70% Production Planning and Forecast Analysis

  • Using SAP and Excel, plan production to meet sales requirements while maximizing plant efficiencies and prepare sales and demand forecast.
  • Analyze sales forecasts to determine short and medium term requirements for product resources.
  • Prepare and monitor master schedules by working with logistics, production, maintenance, and sales personnel to coordinate activities and adjust schedule, as necessary, to respond to market and production requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels and minimize distressed product by planning production to meet known and expected sales.
  • Maximize fill rate potential and coordinate warehouse replenishments.

15% Communication

  • Facilitate communication between Sales, Quality Assurance, Logistics and Operations.

10% Other Duties

  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Solid understanding of production planning.
  • Experience with Food Products, chicken, meat, pork a plus.
  • Understands the dynamics of plant operations.
  • Solid Excel skills and proficient in other software applications.
  • Prior experience with SAP is required.
  • Flexible, ability to work in fast-paced and changing environment, customer-focused, and detail oriented.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and set goals.
  • Occasional travel required - up to 10%.
