Position Summary:

The Supply Planner manages perishable food inventories at Client’s Packaged Product manufacturing facilities, 3rd party manufacturing facilities and distribution centers to support Client’s Packaged Product sales activity. Where applicable; maintains capacity plans for the manufacturing facilities.  Works with manufacturing facilities and or suppliers in scheduling  production to support sales activity at the least landed cost and achieves targeted fill rate, Days on hand inventory and distress ratio to sales.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and manage inventories for Client’s Packaged Product plants to achieve Fill Rate, DOH (Days on Hand Inventory) and inventory turns to company set target.

  • Plan and manage inventories for Client’s Packaged Product plants distress ratio to sales to company set target.

  • Effectively plan production capacity within fiscal objectives to meet production efficiencies, distress, turns and fill rate objectives.

  • Interact with Demand Planning and Business Management to ensure inventory planning is based on most current and accurate forecast.

  • Plan, manage and coordinate Co-packer production and inventory management including deployment to achieve fill rate, distress, DOH (Days on Hand Inventory) and turns objectives.

  • Interact with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Logistics to accomplish scheduling of production and inventories to support all Sales Channels (Retail, Food Service, Industrial, DSD, Deli, International, and Intra Company).

  • Provide resolution and execution to key shortage issues.

  • Ability to prepare and analyze short and long range capacity plans.

  • Misc. support to manufacturing plants and build supplier relationships.

Requirements:

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 years’ experience in inventory control preferably for perishable items in either the meat industry or in a food manufacturing environment.

  • Strong Excel skills are required.

  • Computer proficient in Excel, Access, Powerpoint, SAP including but not limited to, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access Data Base. 

  • Logility and SAP 6.7 experience would be plus.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with various levels of Management.
